Special needs and environmental barriers

As a practicing Occupational Therapist for 30 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many kinds of special needs individuals.  This experience helps me to look at properties with an eye towards environmental barriers and access.

Community Involvement

I have been the President of my HOA, an invaluable position for a real estate sales agent.  I  interfaced with our city council on issues around traffic, community safety, and other opportunities to make our little development a little more inclusive in the city of Troy.  Supporting the HOA makes selling within this development easier for residents and people who wish to live within the community.

Personal Interests

I am an avid tennis player and love to work outside in the garden.  I am owned by one very spoiled Papillon and live to serve her.  My partner and I have settled into Rensselaer County in our downsized twin home and enjoy traveling.

Welcome to my next life chapter.  I thoroughly enjoy working in real estate, a profession that I have always looked at as the next step.  It has been a difficult but rewarding choice, and I am looking forward to another year helping home owners and home buyers.

Personal Background

I am a born and raised New Yorker.  My schooling was all done in Central New York.  My family is large, five brothers and sisters, some living locally, others relocated to Maine.  I continue to work in the field of Occupational Therapy as a consultant to Lansingburgh School District, my home district.

Professional Background

For thirty years, I have worked as an Occupational Therapist, focusing on work with children with special needs.  I have bought, built, and sold houses and have had good and bad real estate experiences.  Coldwell Banker has been the source of all of my positive experiences, and Carol Raike has been the primary reason for those. She has encouraged me to try this next step, and so here I am.

Professional Interests

I am interested in the buying and selling of residential real estate.  I enjoy looking at property and fitting people to what they need, as well as helping folks sell this most important asset.

Education

I have an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology.
